Hi, I’m Siobhan.
*Pronounced "Shi-von” (she/her)
Siobhan is a Kinesiologist and Design Engineer with a focus on sustainability.
She holds a joint MA/MS in Innovation Design Engineering (Distinction) from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, a BSc in Kinesiology, Exercise Science with minors in Biology and Fine Art from California State University, Sacramento and work at UC Davis.
She is a Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of The Tyre Collective, a B-corp startup which invented patented technology which can be mounted to vehicles to capture tire wear microplastics as they are created. She directs the research and testing team, covering sustainability strategies, internal and external pilots as well as built and maintained a network with policy makers and scientific researchers. Under her guidance the company completed over 28 on vehicle pilots, negotiated partnerships with Volvo Cars, Rivian, CEVT and secured pilot opportunities with Tahoe Blue and Yosemite National Park.
Her background in Kinesiology has enabled design engineering work with companies such as Brompton Bikes, Herman Miller, and Imperial College Bioengineering. She has worked on projects from building equations for new bike fame design based on anthropometric data to product design informed by biomechanics.
Siobhan’s work has won international awards such as Forbes 30 under 30 Europe, Terra Carta Design Lab, and the James Dyson Award. She has been featured in several international exhibitions and media platforms such as Vitra Design Museum, The V&A, The Financial Times, BBC, Designboom and Dezeen.
