Swirl
Interaction Design - Playing with torsion and materials, using steel and plywood, this chair investigates subtle motion in positive and negative space.
Swirl was constructed by hand using wood and steel fabrication techniques. The design of the distinctive seat is a cumulation of a material investigation of plywood.Originally inspired by the relationship between the user and chair, Swirl grew to a refined minimal expression of lightness. By playing on the definition of lightness as gracefulness the users initiates the chair to create motion and directs attention to one visual point.
