Making and Learning

Built from scratch using steel and plywood. The process started with 1:5 scale models, refined through 1:1 rough prototypes, before arriving at the final constructed form. Each stage was tested against the design intent before moving forward.

Construction methods included steel bending, welding, and plywood milling. The seat underwent load testing to validate structural integrity alongside the design.

Final Concept

By playing with material properties, the user initiates the chair to move and form around them. The design is a cumulation of a material investigation into plywood, combined with a welded steel frame.
